Father, Soldier, Philanthropist

Curtis says, “I believe it’s my duty to stand up and fight for Truth, Freedom and Faith in a world that appears to be cold, callus, careless and selfish. “
Originally from San Pablo, California, Curtis has lived in Las Vegas since 1988 not only raising a family, but also working as a Manager in the Casino, Hotel & Resort Industry.
Las Vegas is his community. A community that provides so many opportunities to either excel or fall within the cracks of what’s considered a “Sin City.”
Curtis shares his thoughts, “To me, It’s just as important to learn to be a better parent as it is to have your child be a productive member of our Community. WHY Ranch is an organization Las Vegas desperately needs..”
“I am a Father who is deeply in love with His Daughters and tries to express to them how valuable, smart and creative they are. They are irreplaceable and special in our world. I want to teach our children that they are more than whom they believe or see they are now. I want to teach them the measures of being a healthy person; values, character, selflessness, humanity, philanthropy and integrity; to make clear and ethical choices in their lives. I want to show them that who they are is not what their environment says they are or can be. Our world teaches and encourages limitations in our youth. Our Youth need to know their importance in our community.
When I discovered WHY Ranch, I was immediately compelled to give of myself. I believe in the ethics and Mission of the White Horse Youth Ranch, to Educate Minds, Encourage Integrity and Inspire Creativity in Socially Challenged Youth in Las Vegas through the American Living Legend, the Horse. What could be a better connection than the building of an unconditional relationship between a Child and a Horse?
It makes me feel good helping others. Whether it’s a Socially-Challenged child, parent, staff member or a returning veteran. I have found it my calling to lead soldiers in combat just as it is my calling to lead our youth to becoming more resilient, productive and effective through WHY Ranch as the Director of Fundraising & Development.
What makes Curtis Terry unique in his position as Director of Fundraising and Development is not schooling…. It’s his Passion for changing the mindset of Any Child who has Low Self-Esteem, His Love for His Community, Future of our Society and His Desire to change our World One Child at a Time.
